Scale instructions.

Download 'scale.zip' folder. There are five sub directories (and a copy of this page as a pdf ) in the main folder. The software is designed for running in the Windows environment.

If you unzip them, you can run 'setup.exe' within each folder to install the related scale calculator. You will also need to have installed the '.net framework' available from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/net, but it may already be on your system. Make a note of where the programs are installed, the Microsoft 'one-click' deployment can be a bit mysterious.

The titles of the scale calculator should be self explanatory. However, the scale values are strict, e.g. The 7mm to one foot is exactly that, not an approximation to a ratio of 43.5 – if you want to use a ratio, then use the 'selected' version.

I do not think the use could be much simpler. Every time a value in any field is changed, all the other values are recalculated. If you don't want to see the scale values in fractions of inches, (or inches), then drag the bottom corner of the window to hide them away. You can have many instances of the programs running, so that comparisons can be made between various scales. Be aware, that occasionally, due to display rounding errors and the way in which decimals are handled in a binary system, that sometimes a value of, say, '20', will display as '19.9999'.

You may use the software in any way you wish, including hosting it or redistributing, provided these instructions are included, and due credit is given.

If you want a specific scale produced, or other alterations, then email me at 'rscale' at 'yertiz.com' - however, a fee may be required.

Although I am not aware of any errors in the calculations, there is no guarantee or warranty that the results are what they should be.
